Global Change and Mountain Regions Research Strategy

Section 3.6 of this report on climate change and mountain ecosystems deals specifically with the monitoring of biodiversity. The report describes research goals and actions to take to achieve these goals. Among the actions described are monitoring activities, such as measuring of snow cover, vegetation shifts, and developing models specific to mountain systems. The report also suggests identifying key flora and fauna, and monitoring invasive species. The rest of the report is also useful in describe the unique features of mountain ecosystems and how they are affected by climate change.
